HRDF Signs Agreement To Localize Mining Sector Professions
The Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) aimed at enhancing collaboration and partnership to develop human capital in the mining sector.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Firas bin Abdulaziz Abaalkhail, Deputy Director General of HRDF for Business, and Mr. Abdullah bin Shabab Al-Osaimi, Senior Vice President of Procurement and Business Support at Ma'aden. The memorandum focuses on enhancing the localization of mining sector professions and supporting the development of national cadres in alignment with the shared objectives of both parties. This initiative is in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to develop human capabilities and empower them with promising and future job opportunities.
The memorandum stipulates supporting the training and empowerment of suppliers under the Tharwah program for local content, in accordance with the regulations approved by the HRDF. It also includes providing appropriate support solutions and studying support and incentive plans to achieve sustainability in the mining and mineral resources sector, a vital sector for strengthening the national economy.
The agreement underscores the importance and rapid global growth of the mining sector in the Kingdom. Ma'aden, as the largest mining company and multi-commodity producer in the Middle East, plays a significant role in this field with manufacturing capabilities for producing phosphate fertilizers, aluminum, and gold.
Both parties agreed to form a joint working group of specialists to activate areas of cooperation and prepare unified periodic reports to track progress in the agreed-upon areas.
