Mohammed Ahmed Gharawi
Executive Director of the National Labor ObservatoryDr. Mohammed Gharawi has held the position of Executive Director of the National Labor Observatory since the beginning of July 2024.
The National Labor Observatory (NLO) is a specialized research center focused on providing indicators, reports, and studies that reflect the reality of the Saudi labor market and foresee its future. The observatory oversees several strategic initiatives in line with its vision to be the main and reliable source of labor market data and insights. It contributes to the comprehensive transformation process in the Kingdom by using precise data and maximizing its benefits to develop the labor market, address its challenges, and provide insights and analyses on labor market policies to decision-makers and stakeholders, enabling them to make evidence-based decisions.
The observatory works on building strategic partnerships with governmental and educational entities to enhance data sharing, in addition to partnerships with international organizations, global observatories, and research centers to promote efforts in knowledge exchange and apply best international practices.
Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Gharawi holds a Ph.D. in Information Science from the State University of New York at Albany, USA, a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of South Florida in Tampa, USA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Science from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Gharawi has extensive experience as an associate professor and consultant in digital transformation, data management, public policy, and knowledge management. He has worked on numerous national initiatives in digital transformation, government data maturity assessment, and applications of artificial intelligence in the public sector. He also gained international experience working at the Center for Technology in Government in New York, where he participated in the development and implementation of several international projects.
